About Living Self-Care

Inspired by the book Life Will Never Be The Same: The Real Mom’s Postpartum Survival Guide, LIVING Self-Care  empowers women to take good care of themselves–and not just at Mother’s Day. We’re here whenever you need us, inspiring you to KEEP IT UP.

The self-care contest/challenge happens twice each year:  in May to celebrate Mother’s Day and in October/November before “holiday madness” starts. Women are raised to tend to the needs of others before nurturing themselves, leaving many of us overwhelmed, exhausted and running on empty. Self-care is a cornerstone for wellness for all women.

Each May and October/November, we offer a week long contest/challenge to put self-care into practice in your life. For our May 21-25 2012 challenge, we are asking you to take a look at Diane’s List of Ten Plus Two and choosing a technique that you either already use or would like to try out. Write a brief paragraph letting us know what you did and how it worked for you and email it to Stacey. We will also be tweeting and posting about how we’re doing personally with practicing our favorite self-care tips during  the challenge/contest at  www.twitter.com/realmomexperts and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/livingselfcare. Remember, progress, not perfection, is the goal!

Visit us daily to keep on track.  Sign up to have posts delivered to you by subscribing to the blog. In addition to your comments, we hope you’ll share our self-care advice on your FB page, tweet about it, blog about it, and invite all the deserving women you know to join us for a week of great info, fun and prizes to be randomly awarded by our self-care challenge champions.

This site is for you! Please let us know how you’re doing via this blog, twitter or FB. Let’s fill this week with self-care, health and happiness! Best to you!
